Lasanga Bolognese

Call the calorie police

Tell them that we can be found at Los Spaghetto in Al Sadd. And when they find us, we’ll win them over with a pizza that’s worth the extra hour you’ll have to put in at the gym.

Weekends are all about treats (usually of the calorific kind) and we had a craving for something simple yet tasty, so based on a friend’s recommendation we headed to this understated Italian.

What we ate:

Lasanga Bolognese

Lasanga Bolognese

We found the size and creaminess of this a little overwhelming, and our hearts pounded a little harder due to the richness of the sauce. Having said that it was tasty, but in this man v food challenge, the winner clearly wasn’t us.

Pizza rucola e grana (rocket and parmesan)

Pizza rucola e grana (rocket and parmesan)

Buried under a huge pile of rocket (which gave us our only veg portion for the evening), a delicious pizza could be found. This is definitely our type of pizza. Thin, crispy and rustic looking, and the peppery rocket and salty parmesan were the perfect partners for each other. We gave it our full attention and handed back an empty plate.

We highly rate the service too. The waitresses were welcoming and efficient and provided everything before you even had to ask (we always like being left with a bowl of grated parmesan) and left you to enjoy each others company.

It’ll definitely be added to the favorite’s list – it’s the type of relaxed low-key place that you can come dressed up or dressed down, so a thumbs up from L&M. Bravo Los Spaghetto, bravo!

What we learned the hard way:

We love recommendations, however we wished we’d known about the portion size. Whoah! You certainly need to come with an appetite. And looking around we discovered everyone else was also requesting doggy bags.

The damage: 120 QR including a small water.
